Colors of the Rainbow Tag - Jasmine

Hi guys!

This week’s theme is the "Colors of the Rainbow“ Tag. Both Lily and I have watched several videos about it on youtube and decided to try it out as well.

Just in case that some of you don't know about this tag - basically you pick one product that you like for each color of the rainbow. These products don't necessarily have to be make up related, you can also pick your favorite dress, drink or food.

So let’s get started.

Red:

I know it’s cliché but I’m gonna pick a red lipstick. Usually I don’t wear any colored lipsticks apart from nudes or sheer ones because (I personally think) my upper lip is pretty much non-existent and as soon as I apply any bright color it seems to become even less existent. But this one is the only exception. It’s the Lancome Color Design lipstick in Red Stiletto.
It has a cream finish, is slighty on the shiny side (but not too much) and it’s very, very pigmented. I prefer to apply 1-2 coats, than wipe the excess away with an tissue and wear it as a stain.

Orange

Artdeco's Hand Balance All in One Manicure hand care peeling has been one of my favorite products since... I don't know when... ages? This might be my third or 4th bottle of this product (and let me tell you: a little goes a looooong way).
It's a bi-phase product, the granular part is just plain salt and the liquid part includes jojoba, almond, olive, apricot and orange peel oil.
Therefore it does have a quite strong scent, which might be a no-go for some of you, but I have to say I really like fruity scents like this. And after using this your hands feel super smooth and moisturized without being oily or sticky.

Yellow

As for yellow, I'm sorry but I kinda have to cheat on this one, since the only really yellow product I own is an eyeshadow by NYX and I wouldn't consider it one of my favorite products, so I picked the YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara, which is definitely a favorite!
It promises to create volume with a single stroke - and it really does! I have to admit though that my lashes are naturally pretty thick and long, so the effect might not be the same for thin lashes.
As for me it keeps the curl up all day long and more or less stays in place, although it crumbles a little bit.
The only downside is when it comes to removing it, it's pretty hard for me to get everything off, but that just might be up to my make up remover.

Green

Avocados! I can't get enough of these! I always try to have them at home, because there are so many different ways to use them. You can not only eat them as they are (or with a little bit of balsamic vinegar) but also use them as hair or face mask.
And I know some people are "scared" avocados because they contain quite a lot of fat, but don't be! It's monounsaturated fat a.k.a. one of the good guys :)

Blue

I'm not quite sure if this one counts as blue but I couldn't find anything else, so bear with me!
NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Electric Blue. I tend to neglect this product a little bit in winter time, but in summer (especially when I'm on holiday in Turkey) I like to use it as an eye liner, instead of black, because I think it goes really well with brown eyes. It can be worn as an all-over eyeshadow, but I gotta admit I've never tried it before and it's rather unlikely that I ever will, I'll just stick to the less eye-catching way.

Indigo

Here comes a first fashion item! It's a high-low skirt from Zara, that I bought one or two years ago (probably one). I'm rather short, so usually all the long skirts are waaay to long on me, but the length of this skirt is just perfect for me, because it ends slightly underneath my ankles. Also the color is really gorgeous and easy to combine with other items.

Since the color doesn't properly show on the picture I took, you might want to click here for a better view.
Oh and by the way - on the second picture the skirt seems a little bit see-through but in reality it's not.

Violet

It hasn't been long since I discovered Trésor Midnight Rose by Lancôme (that's way the flacon is still almost full) but ever since I did - oh boy, I fell in love with it! I've always preferred floral and fruity scents, and this perfume is no exception from that. The description says "a sexy-sweet blend of raspberry, rose, vanilla and sensual musk." It's not too heavy, so you don't have to worry about other people being overwhelmed as soon as you enter a room, but it does last for quite some time.

So that's it for today's post. Lily's post will be up on Sunday, so don't forget to come back!

Take care,
Jasmine
